![]() Soulful, raw, energy are just a few words to describe the voice of Kimia Collins. The petite vocal powerhouse best known as Chyna Doll is commanding on the stage and equally on records. Starting her singing career at the young age of 9, Kimia learned early about the business, developing her voice on her own. “I remember having tape recorders and dubbing my own harmonies in the bathroom for the acoustics.” As time went on Kimia utilized her friend’s home basement studios as a way to record. Kimia’s love for singing translated into her being apart of a few groups (Soundz FX and Just Us / 304) which combined Kimia strong vocals in with a mix of hip hop. Kimia’s journey to become her moniker of Chyna Doll was a matter of her striking charm, beauty and sex appeal. ![]() ![]() | Kimia describes her self as creative, motivated, hard working, soulful, classic, and universal. Her musical influences range from hip hop to R&B and include MCs like Queen Latifah, Lil’ Kim, MC Lyte, Missy Elliot and singers such as Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. She has worked with notable names such as Chubb Rock, Smiff n’ Wesson (Boot Camp Click) Karen Clarke Sheard, Lil’ Mo, Ru Scola (Dru Hill) and a huge list of local and unsigned artists. She has also performed and participated in events for the NAACP, YMCA, American Idol, The Million DJ March and the world famous Apollo Theater. Her goals are to not just be a force in the music industry but have more of a global reach. Currently Kimia is developing a philanthropic community program called Project BUILDPEACE INC. which focuses on music and theater for peace. Additionally, she is also CEO of Mass Media Entertainment LLC which is the label that Kimia oversees her own independent projects and develops other artists who would otherwise be exploited or shelved by a big corporation. Kimia has knowledge on how to serve and network and barter to build working relationships that will bring long term profits and prosperity. Kimia prides herself on having integrity and standing firm for what is real and true while giving back to her community. Kimia is also a talented journalist, poet, lyricist, and storyteller. an impressive resume and a bright future ahead of her, Kimia plans to
give her best to the world in the form of her current R&B and soul
projects which Kimia describes as raw, innovative and funky. Her mix
tape “Feelin’ Myself”
will include tracks that have collaborations with other artists and a
wide range of unreleased and unheard tracks. She also plans to release
an autobiographical film on DVD called “Keepin’ It Movin’ in America”, which will chronicle her story and her journey to success.
